Things I did on my recent trip
to San Francisco, CA:
* Ate a delicious salmon bisque
* Spent a lot of time with a very good friend, and met a lot of charming, entertaining, interesting people
* Discovered, to my shock, that San Francisco is not the smelly, overrated, pretentious mecca of filthy hippies, loathesome yuppies and self-absorbed homosexuals that I had imagined it, but rather a fascinated, beautiful city with gorgeous architecture, living history, and tremendous cultural life, with only a small amount of filthy hippies, loathesome and self-absorbed homosexuals
* visited the Cartoon Art Museum, where I discovered a brilliant Serbian cartoonist and salivated over their small collection of golden-age Marvel & DC titles
* helped my friend "test" some software on her new iMac
* watched "Withnail and I" for the thousandth time, and enjoyed it as usual
* observed the high-school-cafeteria-esque struggle for social domination of the sea lions at Fisherman's Wharf
* became trapped in a Catholic church
* bought books, comics, postcards, and a miniature carving of the Virgin of Guadalupe
* discovered that clam jerky is even worse than it sounds
* demonstrated that I am to Minnesota Fats as Carrot Top is to Lenny Bruce
* wento to a karaoke bar
and sang "Sixteen Tons"
