Description Difficulty Video

Forward Singe: Start by positioning your hand as shown in the video. The second finger that is placed in front of the pencil is called the 'blocking finger'. Begin by twisting the pencil with the first finger and the thumb. Duck the blocking finger out of the path of the pencil to allow it to quickly rotate around the back of the thumb. For added difficulty this trick can be performed without a blocking finger, also the pencil can start between an two fingers.
1.00

Forward 1&1/2: Rotate the pencil 1 1/2 times in the forward direction using the index and middle finger to throw and catch the pencil. The pencil's axis of rotation changes from the back of the thumb to the top of the index finger for the last 1/2 rotation. This is a fundamental trick to have consistent before performing continues spinning tricks.
1.50

Continues half-taps: Push the pencil with the index finger over the thumb, using the thumb joint as the axis of rotation. Lift the thumb to keep momentum as the pencil passes over. This is a relatively easy trick to perform continuesly.
2.00

Continues 1&1/2: Perform a forward 1&1/2 as the pencil returns to its starting position increase the space between your thumb and index finger. As the pencil falls over the tip of the index finger, in a smooth motion, pinch and twist the pencil into another 1&1/2 rotation....
3.00

Reverse-2&1/2: Twist the pencil by curling the index finger in while pushing with the thumb. Also use the middle finger to push and balance the pencil. Keep the index finger curled and tucked down out of the way so the pencil can pass over it. This trick is also called the Fake Reverse, since the pencil rotates over, rather than around the thumb.

3.25

Reverse-to-BackAround: Perform a single reverse. As the pencil completes the first rotation lift your index finger allowing the pencil to continue another rotation between the index and middle finger over the back of the hand. The hard part of this trick is controlling the second half of the second spin so that the pencil can be caught or transitioned into another trick.

4.25

Freestyle continues with a SnapFlip (#1): Just some random linkage. Forward one and a half to a forward to a Reverse to a SnapFlip to another forward one and a half.

4.00

Freestyle continues:More random linkage. Starts with a reverse double straight into a forward one and a half to forward one and a half thrown from the middle finger to a reverse then a quick half tap to a forward one and a half.

3.75

Freestyle continues with a SnapFlip (# 2): By popular demand another snap-flip link. Reverse to a forwrard double to a half tap to a reverse to a couple half taps to a reverse to a SnapFlip to a forward one and a half.

Reverse to Continues BackAround 1.5: First learn the Reverse to Backaround. As the pencil completes the Backaround tuck your index finger down so that the pencil rotates over it. Focus on making the side of the index finger's lower joint the axis of rotation. The pencil will be below the joint at the end of the backaround and then above the joint to start the reverse. Slightly tip your hand down then up to allow the side of the joint to serve as a corner to keep the pencil from flying away. As the pencil completes the reverse, turn your hand up as if you were going to catch it, this will move the axis of rotation from the side and top of the index finger to around the index finger. The side of thumb can be used to guide the pencil between the fingers to start another backaround.

Forward Levitator to BackAround 1.5: This a new trick, the Levitator, combined with a BackAround afterwards. You'll not see many aerial tricks that let you combine tricks afterwards, but the Levitator lets you do that.

?

New Freestyle Continues: Another freestyle video for those who like it. This one, however, contains a new trick, the NeoBak, right after the first forward 1.5. That's basically a BackAround, but instead of letting the pencil go around the index finger and catching it in writing position, you let it spin on your index finger for a while and catch the pencil in between the index and middle fingers. From there, another Forward 1.5 (this time done from an unusual starting position) is done and finally a Double BackAround from between the middle and ring fingers completes the sequence.

?

Forward 1&1/2 to Continues NeoBak to Full Taps: Combining any trick after a NeoBak is fairly difficult to do, but in this video, you can see how it can be done, continuously.
