Although the Church stopped talking about plural marriage in its meetings, manuals, and other publications in the 1950s, this doesn't mean that the members forgot it. On the subject of plural marriage, Elder Bruce R. McConkie used two scriptural sources for the practice: Isaiah 4 and Doctrine and Covenants 132. According to him, these two passages state that polygamy is accepted by the Lord when administered by those with the proper keys. The scriptures also describe polygamy as part of "the restitution of all things." Elder McConkie stated: "Obviously the holy practice will commence again after the Second Coming of the Son of Man and the ushering in of the millennium."
