Baptism of the type and kind given of God, when performed for penitent persons by a legal administrator, opens the door to celestial salvation. Those who do not believe and are not baptized are damned. There is, as Paul says, "one Lord, one faith, one baptism."

All this is as well known to Satan as it is to us. What is more natural, then, than for him to persuade men to ignore baptism entirely or, if not that, to accept a perverted form that is administered by ministers who have no divine appointment? Such, it is sad to report, is what has transpired from the earliest days where all but a few faithful souls are concerned. Among most of Adam `s seed, even at this late date, baptism is unknown and unperformed. And among Christians it is almost universally perverted and is always performed without authority.
