Spencer W. Kimball (12th prophet):

In the realms of perdition or the kingdom of darkness, where there is no light, Satan and the unembodied spirits of the pre-existence shall dwell together with those of mortality who retrogress to the level of perdition. These have lost the power of regeneration. They have sunk so low as to have lost the inclinations and ability to repent, consequently the gospel plan is useless to them as an agent of growth and development.

The redemption (meaning the mere fact of resurrection standing alone) saves all others from death, hell, the devil, and endless torment. But the sons of perdition, following their resurrection, are cast out with "the devil and his angels" where "their torment is as a lake of fire and brimstone, whose flame ascendeth up forever and ever and has no end." Then "they shall be as though there had been no redemption made; for they cannot be redeemed according to God's justice; and they cannot die, seeing there is no more corruption."

In the end, even Satan will lose his leadership role to Cain.
