Enoch, whose mortal ministry preceded by five thousand years the corning forth of the Book of Mormon, saw in vision both the Second Coming and the coming forth of the volume of holy scripture that would prepare the way for that glorious day. To him the Lord said: "And righteousness will I send down out of heaven -- that is, revelation shall commence anew and the gospel shall be restored -- and truth will I send forth out of the earth, to bear testimony of mine Only Begotten; his resurrection from the dead; yea, and also the resurrection of all men. " The Book of Mormon shall come forth from American soil, from plates buried in Cumorah, from the soil that supported the people of whom it speaks. The Book of Mormon shall come forth containing the cord of the gospel which will unite with the power of the gospel that comes down from heaven. The Book of Mormon shall come forth to testify of Christ and his resurrection and the resurrection of all men. It was to be the Lord's way of bringing to light anew his saving truths.
