An interesting fact about this hill. Joseph Smith claimed that an angel named 'Moroni' told him to get the gold plates from a hill called 'Cumorah'. If you get an atlas and look for an island named 'Cumoros' off the coast of Africa, you'll notice the capital is called 'Moroni'. Go to a library and look for a map from the early 1800's and you'll discover that the name of this island back then was called 'Cumorah'.
