Mormon Church Building

A Mormon church service takes place on Sunday and it broken down into three separate meetings, each about 1 hour long.

Mormons call their meeting places 'chapels', or 'meeting houses'. This is different from a Temple, only worthy Mormons can go there. Anyone can attend a Sunday meeting.

The first thing you might notice is the lack of crosses and crucifixes. These items aren't used in the Mormon Church.

Chapels are used for more than church services, there are places in it where the Bishop (equivalent to a Catholic priest) conducts Church business. Religious instruction classes are also performed here and some have a baptismal font as well. Various activities throughout the week are also done here. Chapels get quite a workout.
