Drawings for the pipemaking book

NEW

The drawings in Compuserve gif format.

The drawings in DXF CAD format.

The .zip file should be moved into a suitable location and unzipped to recreate the drawing DXF files. In order to convert the DXF files into readable drawings you will need some form of CAD program. There are a number of shareware programs that will fill this role and I can also recommend some if you have any problems.

  • NOTE There have been some reports of problems in using the dxf files so I have recreated them and taken more care to avoid any thing that might be application specific. The original drawings were done on Medusa and I have used the Medusa conversion facility to create the dxf files. I have checked them using AutoCAD version 12, ChoiceCAD, DesignPost Drafting, and Vellum. all of these programs can read the files successfully. If anybody knows of a shareware program that will read these files I would be Pleased to hear about it. I have tried Paint Shop Pro V4.0 for dxf reading from a lot of packages and have had no success so far with any of them.

Chris Franklin sent the Musical instrument making forum the following reviews of freeware/shareware CAD programs.

some of the above should be useful and I would recomend a visit to the forum to get more information

Email me if you need further help in getting to the drawings
