ELLEN-THOMAS BENEDICT is an artist, inventor and lecturer. In 1982 he died of cancer, and left his physical body for more than 90 minutes. He makes it very clear that this was NOT a near-death experience, rather a death and reincarnation into the same body. His nurse, who monitored the body through a stethoscope and blood-pressure and heart-rate monitors for an hour and a half, verifies that his body was unquestionably dead. When he returned, he brought with him a tremendous stream of revelations -- about God, about human beings, about the creation of All That Is; heaven and hell, the Void, eternal life, the workings of the universe. Some of his discoveries have proved very helpful in subsequent scientific research. Mr. Benedict has been especially involved in research dealing with Quantum Biology, which studies the workings of light -- and its ability to bring about high-speed healing -- in living systems.
His story has been presented on numerous websites and in at least one book, so I'll not reprint it here. You can read a version of it at Near-Death Experiences and the Afterlife. It's a fairly long story, but I found it impossible to stop reading! (If you find the text there uncomfortably small, click the "View" menu and you can make it bigger.)
