Dirty Burds "Gotta Go" 7" - Although this record is worth
your three
bucks just for the photos on the back, it's worth even more
for the sweet
and sexy garage sounds. The production is lo-fi but you can
hear every
note of Prowler Burd's beautiful voice, the trashy drums,
the jangley
guitar. The songs are catchy and fit in somewhere between
the Pandoras
and the Headcoatees. I can't wait until Halloween, when
these chicks will
be struttin' into Vegas for the party of the year. (Rapid

800 Octane The Kelvis CD - This is a well produced disc of
revved-up
poppy punk. The song-writing's top-notch and the guys are
great
musicians. Dave naturally sings with confidence and Brian's
back-ups add
even more harmony and sweetness to the mix. There's some
great songs
about monsters, pimps and aliens, but the reminiscent
"Radio" about
friendship (and beer) and the emotional songs, like "Still
the Same" and
"Brand New Faces" are powerful and honest and really touch
me. Beer Can
Count: One. Kelly drew an amazing cover for the CD and
penciled in a
redneck clutching a beer can as he's about to get hacked to
pieces. (We

Electrocutes Steal Yer Lunch Money LP - The Electrocutes
are the
alter-ego of the Donnas and this is the LP for all of you
that used to
love the Donnas, but hate them now. It's cute trashy punk
about porno,
puking, and people they hate. Some of the songs are in
Spanish, and there
are plenty of slutty little girl photos for all you fucking
perverts and
pedophiles. (Sympathy)

Epileptix/ Druggies 7" - This record is a total fucking
smash hit! The
Epileptics seem to share at least one sicko with the
Druggies and are
just as good as those legendary offenders. Their two songs
could stand
alone as an amazing single, and I'll say the same about
these new blasts
from the Druggies. Leave it to Pelado to put out a sick
record of this
quality. (Pelado)

God Hates Computers ST 7" - I'm really impressed with this
debut 7" from
this Portland band. These songs are full of anger and
disgust. "Get Me
the Fuck Away from These People" has got to be one of the
best song
titles ever, and the song is a great Superchunk sounding
tune about
hating your job, your co-workers, and the misery it all
brings to your
life. "Kitchen" is about feeling all alone and drinking to
kill your
boredom and loneliness. "Morons", "Past Tense" and "80
mg/day" are all
great songs too. (PO Box 8213 Portland, OR 97207)

Gun Pro/ Hardship 7" - Gun-Pro are sick! Imagine if Born
Against or
Rorschach had lyrics about sexually frustrated sociopaths
stalking girls
and bashing their brains in, or killing people and using
their body parts
as tools. Totally heavy, fucked-up shit. Hardship are just
as heavy, but
faster, and have more personal lyrics about depression and
desperation.
(Steath Ordeal)

Hardship "Sore" b/w "Stock Car" 7" - Limited to 200 copies
on Dead Moon's
Tombstone label. "Sore" is a great tough punk tune with
heavy guitars.
"Stock Car" is a furious and quick hardcore blast. This is
good Portland
punk you can proudly file with your beer-soaked Poison Idea
records.

Hot Water Music Live at the Hardback CD - Some emo band
down in Florida
crammed 500 people into a small café and recorded the show.
Looks like
the place is closed now. (No Idea PO Box 14636 Gainesville,
FL 32604)

Intimate Fags "Break the Back" b/w "Fake" 7" - Everyone
loves these
Japanese bands because they play punk rock so well. The
Intimate Fags are
no exception. Well-schooled in authentic tough-sounding 7os
punk, they
crank out two rippin' numbers, "Break the Back" and "Fake".
Full of
attitude and energy. (Rip-Off)

Fireballs of Freedom/ Humpy 7" - Fireballs rock as hard as
always, for
the sake of Missoula, but Humpy are fucking great on here.
This is my
favorite Humpy record! Tunes about sex and drinking and
hating to work,
all played in that frantic hardcore style. (Pinkhouse PO
Box 9081
Missoula, MT 59807)
